چکیده
Abstract A detailed chemical kinetic model for oxidation of CH3CHO at intermediate to high temperature and elevated pressure has been developed evaluated by comparing predictions novel high-pressure flow reactor experiments as well shock tube ignition delay measurements jet-stirred data from literature. The were conducted with a slightly lean CH3CHO/O2 mixture highly diluted in N2 600–900 K pressures 25 100 bar. At the highest pressure, was NTC regime, controlled large extent thermal stability reactions peroxide species such HO2, CH3OO, CH3C(O)OO. Model generally good agreement experimental data, even though predicted onset reaction overpredicted This discrepancy attributed mainly uncertainties CH3C(O)OO subset. Predictions delays tubes profiles JSR also satisfactory. temperatures above acetaldehyde is affected competition between dissociation radical pool, methane

Impaired acetaldehyde oxidation in alcoholics.
High blood acetaldehyde levels in alcoholics after ethanol ingestion are due to reduced acetaldehyde oxidation rather than to an increased rate of its formation from ethanol. This is associated with low hepatic acetaldehyde dehydrogenase activity in alcoholic subjects and may represent a specific abnormality in them.
متن کاملAcetaldehyde oxidation in the absence of pyruvate oxidation factor.
The pyruvate oxidation factor (POF) is required by Streptococcus faecalis, strain 1OC1, in order to oxidize pyruvate to acetate and CO2 using oxygen or another molecule of pyruvate as the oxidant (O'Kane and Gunsalus, 1947, 1948). In order to gain some insight into the role of pyruvate oxidation factor other pyruvate reactions and acetate-producing reactions are being examined. No reliable meth...
متن کاملThe Gas Phase Oxidation of Acetaldehyde Reaction Mechanism and Kinetics
The mechanism of the low temperature oxidation of gaseous acetaldehyde was investigated in the temperature range of 1 50-400?°C. The minor, intermediate and major products were identified and measured quantitatively by sampling directly into the ionization chamber of an MS10-C2 mass spectrometer from the reactor. The formation of H2O, CO, CO2, HCOOH, H2, HCHO, CH3COOH and CH3OH as the major pro...
متن کاملPhotosynthetic water oxidation at elevated dioxygen partial pressure monitored by time-resolved X-ray absorption measurements.
The atmospheric dioxygen (O(2)) is produced at a tetramanganese complex bound to the proteins of photosystem II (PSII). To investigate product inhibition at elevated oxygen partial pressure (pO(2) ranging from 0.2 to 16 bar), we monitored specifically the redox reactions of the Mn complex in its catalytic S-state cycle by rapid-scan and time-resolved X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy (XAN...
متن کاملSoot formation and oxidation in oscillating methane-air diffusion flames at elevated pressure.
Comparisons with respect to the sooting tendency are made between stationary diffusion flames and diffusion flames with pulsations induced by oscillating fuel flow. Time-resolved measurements of the soot particle properties in the flames are obtained by combining Rayleigh-scattering, laser-induced incandescence, and extinction measurements into the RAYLIX method. Furthermore, flame luminosity a...
